The Coriolis Effect

The sunlight shone through Erin's hair turning it into a shade of orange that was not uncommon for fires. She closed her eyes and breathed in through her nose, tasting the salty air of the ocean. The sunset illuminated her pallor skin and the wind whipped her black sweatshirt around her willowy frame. Her butt had gone numb hours ago but she didn't really care. Suddenly, she heard someone coming up from behind her, their heavy footsteps muffled by the sand. Her lips curved up into a half smile and she opened her electric blue eyes.
"Erin…" Came a deep, almost metallic sounding voice. She turned her head a fraction and saw the man's shoes in the corner of her eye. "What are you doing here; the team went back hours ago."
She stretched and gave a little mew of satisfaction, "Well, if you must know, I was waiting for you to get your aft back here so we could just hang out."
Her sparkmate arched an eyebrow and took a step closer to her. "Hang…out? Why in the world would you like to hang? I thought you didn't like heights."
Erin laughed and patted the sand next to her, an indication of him to sit down, "Hanging out means just to sit and talk or do other things…" She blushed slightly here. She wasn't a rash, bold, girl but when she was with Starscream, she felt brave and said things she tended to not say when she was around anyone else.
"And by other things you mean…"
"Never mind, forget I said anything," She said softly, and began to trace sand patterns with her index finger, "I mean…You can even go if you want to. I just thought that…"
"Well, I'm here so I guess I'm not moving," Starscream sat down and leaned back on his muscular arms that fueled many of Erin's dizziest daydreams. She loved being Starscream's sparkmate but sometimes she hated it. The two were still getting used to the idea that they were even connected. Well, Starscream was, Erin was perfectly alright with the idea, after many sleepless nights and battles in her mind about the whole thing. "I mean, if you want to go, we can, but I have half a processor just to sit here."
She shrugged and a silence like a blanket cascaded over them both and only the sound of a solitary gull and the crash of wave upon wave. Erin found herself sneaking peaks of her good looking companion every once in a while. He was extremely good looing with shoulder length blonde hair that he had tied back in a short ponytail. His eyes were keen and sly and his red irises didn't help that factor one little bit. He was tall and strong, wearing a black leather jacket with a grey tee shirt underneath, blue jeans and a pair of black boots. He was certainly a sight to behold.
"Why don't you take a picture?" He asked snidely, "It lasts longer."
She found herself blushing and then he took a deep breath. "S-sorry, I totally was staring off into space."
He sighed and then looked at the sun, "It's amazing to think that that little ball of gas is your planet's whole livelihood."
Erin thought about it for a moment, "Well, yeah, I mean sure, I guess. To tell you the truth, I've never really thought about it this way."
They sat in silence for a few more minutes until Erin spoke again, "Man, I can't believe I'm here right now."
"Excuse me?"
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean you. I'm just amazed how I could be sitting on a beach with a guy who is actually a mechanical robot. I mean, if you told me that a year ago, I would have called the cops on you or something."
"So…is that an insult?" Starscream asked and Erin rolled her eyes.
"If that was an insult, you would have known." She said sarcastically and suddenly, Starscream was grabbing onto her wrist and looking straight at her for the first time that night. She looked too and felt a jolt in her heart.
"I don't understand," He blurted out, "How someone like you could end up sharing the same fate as someone like me."
Erin blinked and cocked her head, "What do you mean by that?"
"I mean, how could something so beautiful, so innocent, and so full of life have to be bonded to someone as evil, dark and twisted as me?" He demanded and Erin gasped softly. She had never heard Starscream so passionate before. Even when they had shared their first kiss, he hadn't even been as passionate as he was being right now. What had gotten into him?!
"Starscream…" She began but suddenly, his lips were on hers and he was sending jolts of electricity down her body. Her body became jelly and she moaned against his soft lips. She felt her eyes close and she scooted closer to him so she could angle her head better, deepening the kiss. He sighed against her own lips and entangled his long fingers in her soft, flame colored hair.
His tongue grazed against her bottom lip, begging for entrance and she allowed it, his tongue quickly dominating her own. She shivered involuntary and suddenly, she was in his lap, straddling his hips with her legs. Erin felt his hands slide down her hips, holding her in place while her own arms dangled over his shoulders and she pressed herself up against her mate. She smiled through the kiss and then she broke away, just a fraction to gasp for air and talk in a strained voice.
"How could you lead something so innocent astray, my dark angel?" She purred and moaned as his kisses moved farther down her neck, pausing slightly on her pressure point. Her grip tightened on his leather jacket and she closed her eyes and hissed as his tongue dipped into the hollow of her throat. He smirked against her soft, warm skin and then chuckled darkly.
"You were the foolish sparkling who came to me, Erin," When he spoke her name, it was like Christmas, her birthday and Halloween all wrapped up into one.
"Say my name again."
"Erin…"
She moaned and arched her back, closing her eyes as he captured her lips in his again. Finally, they broke away for the last time and Erin lay against Starscream's taut chest, watching the sunset. She sighed and Starscream looked at her, his eyes were full of wonderment. "What are you thinking now?"
She smiled and closed her eyes, obscuring her blue irises. "I'm just thinking about even though I can't believe that I'm here right now, I am so glad I am. With you."
Starscream almost smiled and wrapped an arm around his spark mate. She was so fragile, but her spirit made up for her demeanor.  "I could say the same thing about you, my Erin."
He could sense her smiling softly and as the fire reds on the sunset faded into a deep purple of twilight, they both realized that their fates would had been bound together for a good reason. A very, very good reason.
They lay like that for a little while longer until the beach began to feel cold. Then Erin spoke. "Have you ever heard of something called the Coriolis Effect?"
Starscream sat there for a few seconds, thinking if he knew anything about it. Finally, he spoke, "I've never heard of this effect."
Erin leaned farther into his embrace and opened her eyes, "The Coriolis Effect is the effect of the world spinning. It's like, sitting on a giant spinning merry-go-round. But when I'm here with you, the world seems to stop spinning and everything makes sense and then, when I'm away from you, it feels like the world is going faster and I'm caught in the middle of it all. Let me sit here a little longer with you and just enjoy being still."
The silence fell around them again and then Erin looked up and saw the first star of the evening! She screwed up her eyes and made a wish deep in her heart. Starscream saw her do this and he scoffed. "What are you doing?"
Her face relaxed and she looked up at him, "I'm making a wish."
He smirked down at her and she looked back up at him, "What did you wish for?"
She rolled her eyes and scoffed, "I can't tell you that or it won't come true."
Starscream shrugged and then after a few more moments Erin sighed. "Well if you're going to be quiet like that…"
Starscream let out a hoarse laugh, "I'm not doing anything!"
Erin playfully hit his chest, "Oh yes you are! You're trying to coax my wish out of me!"
"Actually, if I really wanted to do that, I would just do this," He cupped her cheek in his large hand and kissed her long and slow once again. She melted at his touch but as suddenly as he started kissing her, he stopped. "And you would tell me in a heartbeat."
Erin chuckled softly and then smiled, "Well see I got my wish."
Starscream laughed too and kissed her again. "We should probably be getting back to the base. I'm sure that the others are probably wondering where you got off to and I doubt that Optimus would trust me with you again." He allowed Erin to slid off his lap and he stood up, stretching slightly. He helped Erin up and the two of them started walking back to the parking lot where hopefully, Starscream could transform.
They walked in silence until Erin took a deep breath. "Starscream, I need to tell you something really important."
He stopped walking and looked at her, arching an eyebrow. "I know that you look at me nothing more than a pile of flesh and bones but hear me out when I say this. I love you and there is nothing that could tear me away from that love."
She felt a blush rising up her cheeks and suddenly, his lips were brushing hers and he had pulled her into another heart stopping kiss. "That is music to my sensors, Erin because I have fallen in love with you too. We are stuck together until offlining do us part."
Erin didn't know why or how, but she felt herself crying and she felt Starscream wiping the tears off her cheeks, "I love you so much, Starscream."
"And I, you."
She wiped another tear from her eyes and squeezed Starscream's hand. They were destined for this life together and she was perfectly alright with that.
